friday philosophy

sometimes i come across a quote that bears some kind of significance and i want to share it with you dear readers.  sometimes it's based on where i am in life or a certain event, sometimes a quote just reminds me of a friend, or sometimes it makes me think.  it's called 'friday philosophy' and i'm gonna keep it up weekly. (or try to!)

this weekend will be another fun-birthday-filled weekend!  as we celebrate a special little boy's third birthday, i'm going to be acting like a kid again myself.

i have to catch myself sometimes, in my own adult world with my thoughts and opinions that come from years of experience and living, and forget all of it.  the innocence of children is absolutely magical.  i've been trying to get in touch with my childish side more often because frankly, it's way more fun.

my friend who is the mom of this weekend's birthday boy posted pictures of him and his sister on facebook the other day that had me squealing with delight.  imagine a little toe head boy and his little red head sister in a bouncy house...just bouncing and giggling and smiling...

pure joy i tell you.

and i was just looking at the pictures.

seeing that little boy bouncing high with his hair all static-y and a grin from ear to ear...all i could think was...

man, i wish i could just be a kid again...

not a worry in the world (except maybe a blankie or special toy going missing)...just out to have a good time.

that's what i'll be up to this weekend.  letting the little children in my life teach me all that i've forgotten...

that life really is pretty amazing.

sometimes it's because of an ice cream cone...

or a hug from a friend...

or a bouncy house...

or a slobbery wet kiss from the dog...

or a game of tag in the backyard...

or a good tickle...

or a birthday gift...

if it brings a smile to your face, you're doing something right.

happy birthday little man...enjoy your weekend all!

=) andrea
