sunday yumday!

today is all about the blue.  blueberries that is!

despite the humidity, i went out with my friend sarah to pick blueberries.  we went to one of my local favorites:  riverview farm.  it's run and owned by the franklins, who are just the nicest people.  check out their daughter laura's blog, you stir me.  she got married at the farm a couple years ago...definitely some lovely photos to check out over at laura's blog! =)

the blueberries are plentiful and it was hard to resist constantly snacking on the delicious morstels after basking in the sun.  i love a warm blueberry fresh from the bush on a sunny day.

or i also love blueberries in a muffin.

so, today i made some muffins.  i had a very delicious looking cinnamon streusel muffin mix in my pantry... i decided to make that.  and i just added blueberries to half of the muffins so mike and i can each be happy.

i followed the directions on the muffin box...preheated the oven to 400 (and also put my stoneware muffin pan in the oven), mixed 2 eggs, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 3/4 cup milk, and the muffin mix together...i used my ice cream scoop to get the batter into the pan evenly.  after i filled six muffin spots, i added a bunch of blueberries to the batter and finished scooping batter in the pan.  then i topped it with the extra cinnamon streusel topping and put the pan in the oven.  the box called for 16-22 minutes, i put mine in for 19 and they were golden brown and delicious looking.

yummy looking, right?
