friday philosophy

sometimes i come across a quote that bears some kind of significance and i want to share it with you dear readers.  sometimes it's based on where i am in life or a certain event, sometimes a quote just reminds me of a friend, or sometimes it makes me think.

there's a lot of violence going on in the world today...this week...

and it makes me feel really sad....  sad for the people who cannot get along.  sad for the people who feel disrespected.  sad for the people whose beliefs are being persecuted.

while the violence makes me sad, it also makes me feel inspired to do what i can to spread peace.  i feel inspired to encourage someone else.  i feel inspired to lift others up.  i feel inspired to show my respect, not just have it.  i feel inspired to forgive.  but most of all, i feel encouraged to share love.

some of the issues plaguing this country today have deep roots.  deep, hurtful roots.  deep, disrespectful roots.

these issues aren't going to change overnight.  heck, they haven't suddenly changed over the course of this week.  but, slowly, things will change...but only if we change them.

so, i encourage you today to do something kind.  show respect.  share joy.  encourage.  forgive.

love without boundaries.

love without colors.

love without religions.

love without races.

love without language.

love because you can.

love because you do.

love because hate is not the answer.

choose love.
